The History of Drogheria Preti

The iconic sign, now a part of Prato della Valle, reads “Drogheria Preti di Zuin Luigi”. In 1936, Giuseppe Preti, owner of Oleifici Ziveri—a company producing oils, soaps, and related products—began selling his wares here. Later, Luigi Zuin, whose name appears on the sign, continued the business until 1999, when it was passed to Daniele Bettella, the current owner.

The shop is protected by the Superintendency of Architectural Heritage for its ethno-anthropological and historical significance, and Daniele has earned the title of “Outstanding Citizen of Padua”.
